It 'Doesn't' Matter
I walked through the halls,
Emerging into the garden.
Caught off guard I was,
As he sat there and I saw him.
My heart seemed to burst
With joy, but something was different.
This was ever the first
That I felt disdain in such a moment.
She was there, the girl,
The girl he was so close to.
Little does she know what I'd heard.
She hasn't even a clue what I could do.
She may presently belong to someone else,
But that doesn't change what he may have felt or still feels.
